John Mollaghan: Attorney in St. Petersburg
Before joining Bernstein Law, Attorney Mollaghan gained experience in automobile negligence claims and insurance coverage disputes. That background gave him a strong understanding of how complex cases develop and how to approach them with clarity and attention to detail. He has now expanded his practice to include family law matters, working closely with Attorney Derek Bernstein as he builds experience in this area.

John is beginning to assist with family law while continuing to dedicate himself to helping clients navigate challenging legal situations with support and respect.
Earlier in his career, he worked on a broad range of litigation matters, including product liability, property and casualty claims, general insurance litigation, corporate law, excess insurance coverage, and the defense of automobile and rental car cases. This diverse experience gives him valuable perspective on how claims are handled from different angles, strengthening the advocacy he brings to each client today.

Personal Background
John’s parents immigrated from Ireland to London, where they worked blue-collar jobs to support their family. When John left school in England at 16, he balanced full-time work with continuing his education to earn his degree. Growing up in London also gave him the chance to live and work alongside people from many different cultures and backgrounds.
Before becoming a lawyer, John spent more than a decade teaching and coaching collegiate soccer, where he learned patience, focus, and the importance of supporting others. Today, he lives in Apollo Beach with his wife and their two dogs.
