Attorney Derek Bernstein founded Bernstein Law to bring true service back to the legal profession. He believes every client deserves clear communication, respect and direct guidance from their attorney. With experience in personal injury, family law and criminal defense, he helps people move forward with confidence.
His upbringing and community roots shape the way he practices. Derek relates to clients facing stress or uncertainty and treats each person with honesty and care. He lives in St. Petersburg with his family and remains committed to serving the Tampa Bay community.

John Mollaghan
Attorney John Mollaghan serves as an Associate Lawyer at Bernstein Law, bringing valuable experience in automobile negligence and insurance litigation. His background handling complex claims allows him to approach each case with clarity, preparation and attention to detail. He now assists with family law matters while continuing to support clients through difficult situations.
Before joining the firm, John gained broad litigation experience across product liability, property and casualty claims and insurance coverage disputes. This diverse work history gives him a well-rounded perspective on how cases develop, helping him advocate for clients with confidence and consistency.
Nicole Dymersky
As a Family Law Paralegal, Nicole Dymersky brings experience across family, criminal, probate, and estate planning law. She assists with filings, discovery, trial preparation, and post-judgment matters, helping cases move forward smoothly.
Nicole is committed to supporting clients with professionalism and compassion during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Renee Durkin
Renee Durkin serves as a Case Manager at Bernstein Law and has been part of the firm since 2020. With experience in paralegal work dating back to 2005, she brings a strong background in case management and client support.
Renee guides clients from the start of their case through settlement and takes pride in helping them move forward after difficult experiences. She is also an aspiring law student and hopes to continue serving Bernstein Law as an associate attorney in the future.
Yasminda Bernstein
Yasminda Bernstein joined Bernstein Law in 2020 and supports the firm as a bilingual legal assistant fluent in English and Spanish. She plays a key role in preparing for trials and hearings, managing exhibits and evidence, and assisting with essential administrative tasks.
Yasminda is an integral part of the team across both Personal Injury and Family Law. Her focused, task-oriented approach helps the firm stay organized and prepared for major hearings and trials, ensuring clients receive the strong support they deserve.
