hello everybody out there in social media land is your personal injury attorney Derek Bernstein here again for another legal blast I wanted to talk to you today about when you get to the doctor you’re after that car crash that slip and fall that trip and fall and they ask you how you feel and especially I’m talking to you guys out there because we tend to as men try to tough it out look cool and not admit if we are in a lot of pain so when the doctor asks you how you’re feeling tell the truth if you’re feeling like you are an 8 out of 10 Sigourney an 8 out of 10 don’t say you’re two or three or four so that people look at you like you’re so tough or that you can really tough it out so be truthful and honest that way you give ammunition to your doctor to continue good treatment as well as give your lawyer good ammunition so that they can go to the insurance company and get you compensated for the injuries that you have so keep it honest it’s really easy to remember the truth you don’t have to come up with a story keep those questions coming with your personal injury attorney Derek Bernstein your personal more legal information
Hello everybody out there in social media land. it’s your personal injury attorney Derek Bernstein here walking home from the courthouse and as you can see I always walk in the crosswalk while the little guy is telling me I can walk and there’s reasons I do that and it’s not just the reason we all were told has kids which is to not jaywalked as you’re going to get a ticket so while that is true I don’t think I’ve ever met anybody has done a jaywalking ticket but the reason I walked in the crosswalk is for liability reasons so if you are walking in the crosswalk and somebody were to hit you while you have the signals on you can walk then the other person is clearly liable for your injuries compared to if you’re in the middle of the street and there are speeding and hit you then we have a battle over whose fault it is and so you don’t want these types of battles you want to be safe you want to keep yourself in the best way so that you can be compensated if you are injured while in the crosswalk so personal injury Attorney Derek Bernstein here telling you to walk safe follow the signals and stay in that crosswalk
Hello everybody out there in social media land. it’s your personal injury attorney Derek Bernstein here again for another league of glass after leaving the courthouse from a another win at a hearing and I want to talk to you today but a question I get a lot and that is what is no-fault insurance so a lot of you to come up to me and they say I got in a car crash and the guy hit me but I can’t sue them because it’s a no-fault state so nobody there’s that fault and that’s not what the no-fault means what it means is that you have pip insurance personal injury protection insurance which gives you $10,000 to pay for your medical bills from your own insurance company so that doesn’t mean that you can’t go and hire an attorney just sue the person who is at fault so if you got rear-ended by somebody you can go to the medical offices get treatment on your own insurance under your no-fault insurance but then when you’re done using that you can actually sue the person who hit you there’s at fault so pip insurance is your no-fault insurance but you can still sue the person who is at fault so if you have any other questions about PIP insurance you have any questions on no-fault at fault whatever fault you want to do reach out to me personal injury attorney Derek seen here in downtown Tampa

Hello everybody out there in social media land. it’s your personal injury attorney Derek Bernstein here again to drop some legal knowledge in your brain hole and today I want to talk about a question I get a lot and that is when you’re injured in a car crash how long should it take your case to either settle or go to judgment so this is a really complicated case and so it has many factors but it really depends on a how bad your injured be the insurance company that you have the person who hit you that’s coverage how much insurance is there the treatment plan and how you’re going to be treated whether it’s just physical therapy if you need injections if you need surgery all those things need to be taken into account as well as where your case happened whether it’s Pinellas County Orlando Miami Dade Pensacola you’d be watching this in California it also applies to that and things like that so it can really differ it also differs to on the attorney who takes over your case or if you’re trying to go at it alone you know but honestly if you’re looking at a very small case where you have some injuries you have to have some treatment some things of that nature you should be looking within around that six month range six month range can get you back on your feet feeling better and your care and make an offer to the insurance company so six months if it’s a very small one it can go on further than that if it takes a trial it could be it could be year skips or trout but as you guys know not all the time to these cases lead to a trial so in most cases do settle of those a good portion of them settle without having to file litigation so litigation does make things go longer but that’s why it’s so important and I love personal injury for the fact that we’re in it together so a contingency fee agreement is so important because people say you know well the attorneys taking a percentage of the case well the thing is they’re taking all the risk with you on bringing the case so when they take their percentage if they collect zero for you they make a zero for you so all that work is done for free but if they collect for you they only take a percentage compared to billing you hourly so an hourly fee could give some attorneys incentive to drag out your pace while a contingency a percentage Never Changes so they want it makes attorneys want to get that case done as soon as possible so when they put money in your pocket for your injuries and your pain and suffering it puts money in there so a contingency fee agreement is a great thing when it comes to personal injury and how long it takes the case to get done because there’s zero incentive for your attorney to take longer than necessary so if you’re having trouble with thinking it’s taking too long you can reach out to me I’ll give you a kind of a personal opinion on the matter I’m not asking you to switch or anything like that but a personal opinion on what’s happening with the case if it’s taking too long or maybe should try reaching out to somebody in a certain way but it’s your personal injury Attorney Derek Bernstein here trying to give you a little timeline on how long a case should take the hope that answer it a little bit if not reach out to me on Facebook Instagram LinkedIn follow my YouTube channel leave a message and subscribe try and get my subscribership up help more people out here in the Tampa Bay area especially here in beautiful St. Pete where I live so reach out to me and leave a comment in the box and hit me up on my cell.
